F1® Delta Time will deploy on Polygon (previously Matic Network)!

Transactions times and high gas fees are a painfully familiar topic for anyone who has interacted with Ethereum based games. In the last few months, with the ETH price continuing to rise, these have become concerns for our players, and we have been working to address them. Today we are delighted to announce that F1® Delta Time will utilise the Polygon chain!

What this means for F1® Delta Time and REVV

One of the most exciting aspects of our partnership with Polygon is that REVV will be bridged to the Polygon chain. This means that if you hold a sum of REVV on the Ethereum blockchain, you will be able to use a bridge to transfer that same amount of REVV to Polygon. REVV on Polygon will be usable in the same manner as on Ethereum; it can be used to purchase gameplay tries and buy NFTs. There is also an exit bridge, meaning that any REVV you earn on Polygon can be transferred back to Ethereum.

For F1® Delta Time specifically, moving to Polygon will minimize transaction fees and make your Play-to-Earn experience much more efficient. This update will benefit players by providing faster transactions and much lower fees for game actions such as Key opening and future staking systems.

What to expect next

The integration of Polygon is not a small task. Because we’re planning to bridge REVV, it’s very important that the solution we will provide to users is secure and robust. Our first step over the coming weeks will be to enable the REVV bridge and support 2020 Key openings on the Polygon chain. Like REVV, NFTs can also be bridged between Polygon and Ethereum, meaning that a Key that is opened on Polygon can mint NFTs that can be sold on Ethereum.

This will enable us to switch to a full automatic claim system on rewards. Right now, all rewards are airdropped and players sometimes have to wait to receive them. With the new claim system, players will be able to receive their rewards promptly. This change will affect all features of the game: Grand Prix Mode(full multiplayer and events), Time Trial, Elite Time Trial, Tracks, and future features.

It will also allow efficient implementation of the multiplayer system by allowing more aspects of the game to occur on chain, ensuring a layer of trust and transparency.

Beyond F1® Delta Time, other aspects of the REVV Motorsport platform will also make use of Polygon. We will share more information on this in the coming months.

More about Polygon

Polygon Network is a Layer 2 scaling solution that achieves scale by utilizing side chains for off-chain computation while ensuring asset security using the Plasma framework and a decentralized network of Proof-of-Stake (PoS) validators.

Polygon Network aims to solve some of the problems associated with the current blockchain platforms, including high transaction fees and long transaction times.
